Tim Matlo has been working in the mortgage industry for over 20 years, operating out of Calgary, Alberta under The Mortgage Professor brand. What started as a straightforward career in mortgage brokering evolved into something more: a reputation for handling the complex cases, the ones that banks turn away, the ones that require someone to think beyond the standard checklist.
Tim is a Senior Mortgage Broker licensed through a national brokerage with direct relationships with lenders from major banks to alternative and private sources, Tim is able to access financing options that most clients never see sitting across from their local bank branch.
The goal has never been to close a deal. The goal is to find the right solution for the person sitting across from me and make sure they actually understand what they are signing.
Over the years Tim has helped clients through first purchases, refinances, renewals, debt consolidation, investment properties, and situations that required real creativity to solve. High debt ratios, bruised credit, self-employed income, rural properties, unconventional deals these are not exceptions in his practice. They are the norm.
Tim is based in Calgary and serves clients across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. He works closely with his team including brokers Jared Matlo and Lauren Matlo, each bringing their own expertise and building their own client relationships within the broader Mortgage Professor brand.
